Actress Priyanka Chopra and then actress Meghan Markle met three years ago at a television event and hit it off, bonding over their love of humanitarian work. They became friends quickly and remain very close to this day. So close, in fact, that Chopra has confirmed she will be at the royal wedding on May 19, 2018.
Much like Markle, Chopra is a champion for women’s rights and even spoke out about her friend’s Vanity Fair cover story saying the complete focus on her friend’s romance, while negating the other parts of her life or her interests, seemed a “little sexist.”
When Chopra was asked by People magazine, what about her friend would surprise the public, she had less to say, pleading the fifth.
As far as the dress Chopra will wear to the televised and highly anticipated nuptials, she has an idea but isn’t certain at this point.
Chopra couldn’t be happier for Markle. She thinks that Markle is a relatable young woman of today and she is happy that so many have seemed to embrace her.
Chopra says that Markle thinks outside of the box and feels very strongly and fervently about her activism and what she deems necessary, moral, and good.
She goes on to say that she has a strong voice and a lot of ambition. The actress goes on to say she thinks that the world needs more role models like Markle.
It’s nice to see two women with roots in the entertainment industry be so encouraging and supportive of one another.
The Indian beauty has said that a very strong and free-spirited woman found her prince and really put a whole new perspective on love and what is possible.
She says her friend has “made a cynical world believe in fairy tales again” and that’s a lovely sentiment and wish any friend could give another.
The importance of Markle’s platform and the type of influence she will have on a global level is quite stunning.
Chopra seems to think she won’t have an issue living up to such demands and will become a princess so many can be proud of.
