Meghan Markle’s estranged sister, Samantha Grant, is opening up about the future princess’ private world and is sharing never-before-seen photos of the two of them when they were younger. The sisters haven’t spoken in years, and Grant says things have gotten worse since Markle started secretly dating Prince Harry back in the summer of 2016.
In Touch Weekly is reporting that Grant blames the distance on Markle’s mother – and her former stepmother – Doria Ragland. She says that Ragland has “shut everyone out” since her daughter’s relationship with the prince began, including Grant and her brother, Thomas, Jr.
“In my mind, Doria wanted to run around and seal off all the hatches. She became very possessive and controlling,” says Grant.
She added that Ragland is so controlling that she wants to live with Markle and Harry in the palace after they get married.
Meghan Markle's sister, Samantha Grant, argues that her upcoming book about growing up with Meghan is not an attempt to "cash-in" but that she has a service to "share information that is socially and historically valuable." https://t.co/VcGduoczYh pic.twitter.com/GTEBLmg1YU

Grant also blames Ragland for Markle’s rare contact with her father, Thomas Sr., who is a former lighting director on shows like General Hospital and Married, With Children. He filed bankruptcy in 2016 and moved to Mexico to live a reclusive life.
She says that Markle’s dad gave the actress much of who she is, from her education to her entertainment industry connections that got her the job on Suits. Grant says that Markle should return the favor – with money. If she can spend $75,000 on a dress, referring to the Ralph & Russo gown the 36-year-old wore in her engagement photos, Grant believes Markle should give her dad $75,000.
Grant does claim that Harry called Markle’s father to ask for permission to marry because that is the proper and respectful way of doing things, but the prince has never met his future father-in-law. She isn’t sure why they haven’t met, but she thinks it might be due to distance, time, and schedules.
Markle’s half-sister also said her dad has had a bad leg for a while, but he is doing better and working with a doctor, so he will be able to walk the actress down the aisle. Per The Huffington Post, Grant says that unless the plane crashes, he will be there, and any rumor to the contrary is “rubbish.”

During a visit to @reprezentradio in POP Brixton this afternoon, Prince Harry and Ms. Markle chatted to young people about their experiences, and how Reprezent has helped to develop important skills. Training hundreds of young people every year to develop useful skills and help progress to further education and employment opportunities, over 4,000 young people have been through the Reprezent programme.
Grant did have some nice things to say about Markle as a child. She says she was well-behaved and respectful, adding that she was all forthcoming and diplomatic when she wanted something.
However, according to The Hollywood Gossip, Grant hasn’t been so nice when it comes to describing her sister as an adult. In her soon-to-be-published memoir The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, Grant writes that Markle severed their relationship because Grant’s disability didn’t fit in with her posh lifestyle.
Meghan Markle has not acknowledged her sister’s attempts at defaming her.
