Royal experts are sure that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will announce their engagement soon, most likely before the end of the year, and when that happens, the Suits actress’ life will no longer be the same. When she is officially a member of the Royal family, will Markle have to make the same changes as Kate Middleton?
According to the UK newspaper The Daily Star, once the 36-year-old weds the Prince, she will have to quit her job, just like the Duchess of Cambridge did. Her royal duties will be full-time, and that will leave no room for an acting career.
Reports have circulated that Markle is leaving the USA network show after the 7th season wraps next month, but they have yet to be confirmed.
On top of ending her acting career, Markle will also disappear from social media. She already ended her popular lifestyle blog The Tig earlier this year after the site had a successful three-year run. Sources claim that the Palace did not like the idea of a blogger becoming a princess.
One of the biggest changes for the American actress will be moving from Toronto to London. Suits is filmed in Toronto, and that is where Markle has lived for the past few years. However, once she is engaged to Harry, she will make the move across the pond and settle down with her Prince in the English countryside.
Recent reports have circulated that the couple is looking for a home in the region of the Cotswolds, in the county of Oxfordshire.
That area boasts several famous residents, including Harry’s dad Prince Charles, Victoria and David Beckham, Stella McCartney, and Kate Moss.
The county, located about an hour outside of London, is special to Prince Harry because it is the site of Highgrove House. That is the home that his mother Princess Diana shared with Prince Charles before their divorce, and Harry spent many weekends there as a kid.
Oxfordshire features high-end restaurants and designer shops, and the members-only club The SoHo House.
Even though Meghan Markle will have to make a lot of changes once she becomes a princess, it doesn’t seem likely she will have anything to complain about.
