During a new interview with Q Magazine, released on the 23rd of October, Matt Healy, the frontman of The 1975, said sorry to his mother for making her put up with his past drug addiction.
While chatting with Q reporters, Healy said he wanted to ask for his mother’s forgiveness because he now realizes she may have thought her mothering skills had something to do with his fall into substance abuse.
As it was previously reported, the 29-year-old rock star went to a rehabilitation facility in Barbados last October because of his heroin-consuming rituals which almost cost him his career and life.
Healy had a bad problem with the drug before recording their upcoming record, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, but he eventually managed to nip it in the bud.

During the conversation with Q, The 1975 frontman explained he isn’t a great person when he’s doing narcotics, describing himself as a “worse writer, person, friend, partner, and son.”
Moreover, Healy spoke about the recent death of Mac Miller, who passed away at the age of 26 on the 7th of September, this year. Before Mac died, he was dating the pop star, Ariana Grande, who supposedly broke up with him due to his drug problems and hard-partying lifestyle.
Following their split, Ariana began dating Pete Davidson, the star from Saturday Night Live; they subsequently became engaged. However, not even a year later, Ariana and Pete called it off, and Pete moved out of their home in New York City.
Matt Healy and Mac Miller aren’t the only ones to struggle with drug addiction lately. Demi Lovato went into a rehabilitation facility earlier in the year after relapsing.
The singer began using again, sparking controversy and social media discussion with the release of her song, “Sober.” During the summer months, Demi overdosed at her home following a night out with her friends. She then went into rehab and hasn’t spoken publicly since.
Even though Matt struggled, he managed to bring it all together again, and he and the rest of his band have a new record coming out on the 30th of November.
