“Friends” fans rejoice! Matt LeBlanc, who played the lovable Joey on the sitcom is finally back in the business after a decade.
The series called “Man with a Plan” is premiering Monday at 8:30 PM on CBS. The new sitcom is about father of three Adam Burns (played by LeBlanc) who decides to spend more time with his kids at home after his nurse wife Andi returns to the workforce.
Although the actor has not been part of a sitcom since the Friends spin-off cancellation in 2006, he has not exactly been away of the spotlight either. LeBlanc has played, since 2011, a fictionalized version of himself on the Showtime/BBC series “Episodes,” which airs its fifth and final season next year.
Only a month ago he also signed a two year contract to continue hosting “Top Gear” after being the presenter of the British series for one season, replacing Chris Evans.
Matt LeBlanc talked in an interview for the Post about his plans and the sitcom “Man with a Plan” as well as his plan (see what I did there?) regarding the way he is going to handle filming for two shows at the same time, on two different continents: “It’s tricky. The sitcom is three weeks on, one week off, which is the general pace of a sitcom, to give the writers a chance to stay ahead of production. So in that one week off I travel. We shoot “Man with a Plan” on Friday night then I leave Saturday morning for “Top Gear.” I get to [London] late Saturday/early Sunday, work that whole week then come back [to LA] the following Monday for “Man with a Plan.” It’s doable. We’ll see how long it lasts.”
His schedule sounds crazy hectic but I’m sure the actor is going to manage just fine.
Who is excited for “Man with a Plan”? I know I am.
