Matt Lauer will not get a severance package as a part of his firing at NBC because of the allegations of sexual harassment. CNN reported that the contract called for the host to receive $10’s of millions of dollars but the network has no intentions of paying him.
A source said to the organization, “Lauer will not be paid his last day of work.” In a report from the New York Post on Thursday, lawyers of the 59-year-old had been working hard to get some money for the embattled host.
A report from the NYP said, “Lawyers trying to get him $30 million payouts after firing.” Lauer expected to receive more money because of his contract which expired in the first half of 2019.
An insider at the NBC said there is no doubt lawyers for the host would try to squeeze money out of his firing, but executives at the network had no intentions of doing so.
As you may know, the NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, fired Matt from his position on the 28th of November after a female colleague said he engaged in “inappropriate sexual behavior.”
Wow, Matt Lauer was just fired from NBC for “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.” But when will the top executives at NBC & Comcast be fired for putting out so much Fake News. Check out Andy Lack’s past!

In a statement released afterward, Matt said some of the allegations were misconstrued or mischaracterized.
However, enough of the stories were valid for him to be incredibly embarrassed and ashamed. He said in his statement, “as I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment.”
Matt is just one of many men working in the journalism industry to lose their job. Charlie Rose was fired for similar accusations as well as Bill O’Reilly, Mark Halperin, and many others in the entertainment sector in Hollywood.
It looks like Donald Trump was right when he said there would be a “draining of the swamp,” except it’s in the journalism and entertainment sectors rather than in the public administration. In a tweet which we have for you above, you can see the President appeared to be pleased with Matt’s forced exit from the network.
