Despite the harrowing allegations against Matt Lauer, he and his estranged spouse, Annette Roque, are able to keep it civil. As most know,they’re currently in the middle of a divorce.
This past weekend, on Sunday, the ex-couple appeared at the Hampton Classic together. In photographs published by The Daily Mail, Lauer wore sunglasses and a New York Yankees baseball hat – probably to avoid attention as much as possible.
This comes after an insider said to Entertainment Tonight that the 60-year-old ex-host of Today agreed to pay his ex approximately $20 million in a divorce settlement.
Lauer, who shares three children with her, Jack, Romy, and Thijs, wants to ensure his ex doesn’t have to worry about money ever again. They got married back in October of 1998.
An insider said that they’ve had an incredibly challenging and embarassing year. Their children are at a delicate age and they want all of it to blow over as quickly as possible, especially for fear of the media spotlight and its effect on their kids.
Furthermore, the insider shared that they’re both feeling a lot happier these days because they know the divorce is finally on its way, and they can soon put it all behind them.
In addition to letting bygones be bygones, Matt is slowly trying to get himself back into society after losing his job due to sexual harassment allegations, as well as accusations that he was secretly sleeping with a subordinate.
Ever since he lost his job, a source added, “he’s been staying out of the public’s eye in the Hamptons.” “It’s been very challenging for him to work through all of this, but he knows that he can’t just hide out in his home for the rest of his life,” the insider added.
