Hoda Kotb was just announced as the new co-anchor of Today, replacing Matt Lauer after he was fired from NBC. She received a congratulatory text from him, and she was thrilled and proud because of this.
Hoda discussed with E! News and she stated that after she was announced as Matt’s replacement, all kinds of texts popped up and there was also a message from Matt.
He congratulated her, and Hoda told E! News that he also said some kind words and these meant the world to her.
Hearing from him was really important, and she concluded that the whole message was nice and she is glad to have received it.
Matt has been silent since he was fired from NBC News due to tons of allegations of sexual misconduct.
We can’t tell you if Matt will make a public statement regarding Hoda’s promotion or not and we’ll just have to wait and see.
He has been really focused on his family these days and Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie claimed that she has been in touch with him and he is with his family where he belongs.
‘We’ve kept in touch, and we have all been reaching out. I don’t think there’s anyone who would be more thrilled than Matt to see Hoda in this role. He loves Hoda, and he knows how good she is. I know that to be true’ Savannah stated.
Latest reports have unveiled that Hoda is making $7 million per year, and this is a massive difference from Lauer’s $25 million.
According to a source, his salary was a reflection of his really extended time as a co-host on the show. He was there for 25 years before he got fired.
