Martha Stewart Jokes About Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop Brand - Says She Promotes Her Products 'Irritatingly'
Gwyneth Paltrow recently dropped a candle that was described as smelling like her vagina - although, it was actually a joke - and Martha Stewart had some comments to make about it. When Martha stopped by the set of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen recently, she was asked about Gwyneth's new candle product.
Fans of Martha Stewart know she's an expert at running a successful brand, despite going to prison. Turns out that Martha thinks Paltrow has an "irritating" way of marketing her products, however, she stated that we might as well let Gwyneth "do her thing."
"She's trying to zhuzh up the public to listen to her, and that's great," Stewart explained. When asked if she would buy the candle, Stewart stated she wouldn't - plain and simple.
Then, the television show host asked her what the candle said about America, and Stewart claimed it didn't say much, except that there are a lot of horny men out there. As it was previously reported, Gwyneth dropped a brand new candle on her website with the title, "This Smells Like My Vagina."
In the description, it stated that Gwyneth and the designer of the candle were joking around about the scent one day, and Paltrow blurted, "this smells like a vagina." The description adds that the scent includes a few different aromas, including ambrette seed, cedar absolutes, damask rose, geranium, and citrusy bergamot.
Like Martha and Cohen noted in the interview, the candle has since sold out. As fans of the actress know, she has done very well for herself as an actress, but also as an entrepreneur, even though not everyone out there is a big fan of her tactics and products.
For instance, Gwyneth has come under fire a number of times for promoting products with sensational promises and claims, many of which aren't FDA-approved.
The report of her genitalia-scented candle came not long after Paltrow appeared in a new YouTube video in which she addressed her notorious Harper's Bazaar cover back in 1997. At the time of the issue's publication, Paltrow was underweight following an emotional breakup with Brad Pitt.
