Marlo Hampton Speaks On Canceled Show Produced By Kandi Burruss: "I Was Sad To See It Go"
Reports read that Kandi Burruss was producing a show that would star "Real Housewives of Atlanta" fan-favorite, Marlo Hampton. Within few days of the news making headlines, it was announced that the program was canceled before it even started.
The series was reportedly called "Haute Lanta" and was set to include Marlo Hampton and a few other well-known women of the famous Georgia city. Similar to "Real Housewives," the unscripted show would give viewers a look into the lives of the friend group.
With Kandi Burruss behind the lenses, Marlo Hampton would serve as the power player to attract viewers. The exciting news abruptly came to an end when it was announced that it was canceled due to Hampton's outrageous demands.
The non-negotiable requests allegedly included first-class flights and more. A source told The Jasmine Brand: "She had too many demands, and she wasn’t willing to budge. She has some star power, but for a new show, there’s not much of a budget. Marlo wanted too much."
Days later, the blog was able to get inside information from Marlo's camp. Unfortunately, the show didn't work out but there are no hard feelings between the friends.
"She loves Kandi to death! She knows Kandi is 100% about her business, and she knows how committed Marlo was to the show. They’ve been working on it for two years," the report read.
Marlo Hampton confirmed that statement when she recently visited "Sister Circle."
She told the hosts: "I can't talk too much about it, you know, the contracts. You guys know how it is in show business. Things like that happen all the time. What I can say though, we worked on it for like the last two years. I was sad to see it go. The good thing about it -- Kandi, the production company, the network company, we're in a great place."
In the interview that you can watch above, Marlo goes on to hint that she will be back on TV and reveals that she's in a happy relationship.
