Mariah Carey will perform at “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest” following last year’s disastrous concert. Fans of Mariah will remember 2016’s event which was fraught with problems including her visible lousy mood and abrupt pausing of the show despite a track playing in the background.
The performance went viral, but not for the desired reasons. After the show, Mariah took to social media and posted a meme which said, “sh*t happens.”
Additionally, as a result of the poor performance and set up, Mariah and Dick Clark Productions got into a professional fight in the public’s sphere.
Carey allegedly claimed the production company intentionally sabotaged the set due to some personal vendetta. However, in response, the company said it was because she didn’t “rehearse enough.”
Fortunately, for both parties, they have made up. In a joint statement released to The Associated Press, Mariah and the company said last year’s event didn’t go as planned.
But they intend to make up for it this year during the 2018 New Years Eve party. Reportedly, other performers will take the stage including Camila Cabello, Sugarland, and Nick Jonas.
As you may know, Mariah is notorious for being “difficult” to work with, as the star has a reputation for being one of the world’s biggest divas.
Carey once famously pretended like she didn’t know who Jennifer Lopez was, creating an infamous meme which is still used today.
In fact, Andy Cohen referred to the classic line while referring to Kathy Griffin, who slammed him in response.
Kathy allegedly became infuriated and made up a rumor about her former boss which stated that he offered her cocaine while on the job. Either way, Mariah can’t be that bad otherwise Dick Clark Productions wouldn’t agree to work with her.
