Margot Robbie has been taking Hollywood industry by storm and it doesn’t look like she’s planning to slow down anytime soon. After giving a tremendous performance as the shunned figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, which earned her an Oscar nomination, Robbie is becoming more and more of a bonafide Hollywood leading lady with every role she takes.
Robbie was said to be shifting her focus from acting to producing and directing, wanting a more behind the scenes role in a film. She still has every intention to keep acting, but only intends to take on projects and roles that she feels passionate about.
This appears to be one of them.
At 27- years-old, this will be her second time working with Hollywood elite actor Leonardo Dicaprio, whom she worked with on The Wolf Of Wall Street.
The Tarantino film which is titled Once Upon a Time In Hollywood also stars Brad Pitt. Robbie will play the stunning pregnant actress Sharon Tate, who was murdered by Charles Manson’s followers in 1969.
Robbie has been wanting to work with Quentin Tarantino for quite some time. In fact, she has expressed that he is one of her “bucket-list directors” that she’s always dreamed of working with.
Interestingly enough, another starlet was in the running to play the sought after role of Tate. Jennifer Lawrence was in talks to perhaps take the role. However, Tate’s sister preferred Robbie because she felt she bears a much closer resemblance.
Tate was considered one of the hottest up and coming actresses in the 60’s. When she was killed, along with four other people, she was nearly 9 months pregnant with husband Roman Polanski’s son.
The cause of death was multiple stab wounds.
A rather vicious and terrible way to have life snuffed out from a person, much less one carrying another human life.
There is no doubt that Tarantino, who has a penchant for displaying violence, turmoil, and revenge quite expertly in his films, will craft a visual depiction of the story with chilling detail.
The film is set to be released late summer 2019.
