Maren Morris is firing back at the critics who are slamming her for not only posing topless in Playboy but for sharing the pictures online.
The ‘GIRL’ singer is not letting the haters get her down after the trolls have come out in droves over her Playboy photos, which feature her in red pants, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. She gave fans a preview of the spread because she is not only proud of it, but it is also a dream come true for Morris.
“Strip it down. something with @playboy is coming next week…” the blonde beauty captioned the post of photos.
It didn’t take long for the critics to come out in full force. Her comments section was flooded with mean and nasty remarks. Thanks to those slut shamers, Morris felt the need to defend her choice and fire back at the haters.
One day after proudly sharing a preview of her Playboy spread, the singer had to use social media to share a message directed at the people spewing negativity at her.
“The thing about me is, I make music for myself. I learned later that it touches others, which is the most wonderful byproduct of a songwriter’s calling. Some can slut-shame me for my lyrics about sex, and you can put me in your little box, but I just want to live and love,” Morris declared in an Instagram story featuring one of her gorgeous Playboy photos in black and white.
Morris went on to explain she accepts herself, as well as reveal how happy she is her fans will get to read her interview in the Playboy issue dedicated to gender and equality.
“I recently accepted myself and will put these photos in a frame because I’ll never have this moment back. Can’t wait for you to read my interview with @playboy in their ‘Gender + Sexuality’ issue next week. I drop some truth too,” she stated, ending her message.
It has taken Maren Morris years to come to accept herself. She has been open about her mental health struggles, which is one reason why she is fighting back against the haters. The singer is focused on her career and living her life to the fullest.
Along with her Playboy spread, Morris also had another dream come true last week when she had the honor of performing alongside Sherly Crow at the CMT Awards. Crow has long been an inspiration for Morris, so teaming up with her was another milestone for the 29-year-old who has come so far in the last five years.
