Former Mad Men star and self-proclaimed Bachelor superfan January Jones is dating Nick Viall, just a few short months after he split from Vanessa Grimaldi, according to Page Six.
The romance began after her appearance on the Late Late Show with James Corden where she revealed her love of the long-running dating show, and Viall took the opportunity to reach out to the blonde beauty.
“They’ve been dating for about two months. She went on The Late Show in mid-November and said Nick had reached out to her and tried to get her to lip-sync battle with him. She declined, but then he asked her out for a drink, and she accepted. They’ve been seeing each other since,” the source said.
Viall appeared on the 21st season of The Bachelor, which aired last March, and got engaged to Grimaldi in the season finale. But, the two split in August and they said at the time that they gave their relationship everything they had, but a fairytale ending just wasn’t meant to be.
The two split amicably, and Grimaldi said not long after that they were very supportive of each other and still deeply cared for one another. Viall echoed her sentiments by saying that they still have positive thoughts and feelings for each other.
Grimaldi said after the breakup that she was taking time out for herself, so she can feel comfortable alone in her own space. But, after claiming she was enjoying time alone, eyewitnesses spotted her getting cozy with professional hockey player, Brendan Gallagher.
Viall said that he took the appropriate amount of time to get over Grimaldi, but by November he was back in the dating game and ready to see what happens. He admitted that he hoped he was lucky enough to meet someone, adding that “if it happens, it happens.”
After appearing in The Bachelor franchise four times, Viall said that time in his life is over and won’t be making any special appearances on Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s current season. He says he isn’t running away from anything, but it’s time to move forward.
He does, however, stay connected to his Bachelor past, and does keep in touch with some former contestants, including Josh Murray. The Single State of Mind author says he ran into Murray at a wedding last summer and there are no hard feelings between the two. They vied for Andi Dorfman’s heart during season ten of The Bachelorette, with Murray eventually getting the final rose.
As for Viall and Jones, they celebrated her 40th birthday together this past weekend – along with some of her Mad Men co-stars – at Inkwell in Los Angeles.
During her appearance on Corden’s show, January Jones joked that it’s hard to know if you like him (Viall) or if he is a scumbag, but maybe that’s why she is attracted to him.
