Lizzo Responds To Backlash Over Going On A Detox Diet After Promoting 'Body Positivity' For Years!
After many years of promoting 'body positivity,' Lizzo decided to do a 10-day juice cleanse and this made some of her fans pretty upset! However, the star made it very clear that it's her own body and she can do whatever she wants!
Not only that but she also explained to her critics that this means a lot more to her than just what might seem to be a crash diet.
Her response came after many accused her of giving in to the pressure of slimming down despite promoting beauty at every size for such a long time.
Seeing all the hate that came after she revealed her detox journey, she took to her TikTok account to explain in a video why she decided to do it.
'November stressed me the f**k out. I drank a lot, ate a lot of spicy food and things which f***ed up my stomach. I wanted to reverse it all and get back to where I was. I am so proud of myself. I am proud of my results. My sleep's improved, my hydration, inner peace, my mental stability, f***ing body, skin. I feel and I look like a bad b***h. I think that’s it. I am a big girl who did a smoothie detox. I got exactly what I wanted out of it and any big girl out there should also do whatever the f*ck they want with their bodies.'
Big girls do whatever u want with your bodies!!! I’m just as proud of my results from my smoothie detox as I am of my belly curves and swerves ❤️
Her clap back came a few hours after Lizzo took to her go-to platform to share the results of her detox process, even doing a day by day progression! This is what caused the backlash!
Either way, Lizzo talked about it, revealing that days four, five and six were the toughest for her.
Still, she insisted that she never really felt hungry while drinking the smoothies.

In her response video, she once again stressed that she never went on the cleanse with the intention of losing a dramatic amount of weight.
The main goal was for her to feel better physically after eating so unhealthily in the month that just passed.
