Lily Allen told all about her relationship with her former husband Sam Cooper in an interview for Cosmopolitan UK. It’s safe to say that the things she revealed were not very positive.
As you may know, the two got married back in 2011 and put an end to their union in 2016.
They are the co-parents of two kids.
In the magazine, the woman started by opening up about her Sheezus tour, explaining that she was not able to take the young ones on the road with her.
‘I’d always assumed I would chuck my kids over my shoulder and take them around the world. But Sam did not want that. He did not think it was a stable environment for them. I believe it was quite selfish. He got to stay home and have the family I had just spent 3 years making inside me. Meanwhile, I had to go out and earn money and leave my family behind.’
Allen explained her point of view that ‘If the kids had been there it would’ve created a more stable environment. If you wake up in a place where you do not know anyone and you have got 16 hours to kill, you only have a few options.’
The star is now in a relationship with Meridian Dan and is happy but she still remembers very well one particular argument with Cooper back in 2016 and it was apparently over his new relationship.
She told the outlet that ‘It was a build up of everything and it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. When I feel the people I trust most have betrayed me, my whole world slips out from underneath me. [The staff] pinned down on the floor. I picked up a water cooler and just threw it through the window. Dan said 6 nurses tackled me to the floor and they had the needle out. They were about to knock me out and sedate me. [Dan] had to really fight with them not to do it.’
