Lily Allen recently posted a pic on Instagram to show off her abs, but the post ended up sparking a rumor that she is engaged to Stranger Things star David Harbour. Could the couple be headed down the aisle soon?
In the picture, Allen is showing off her toned physique with a mirror selfie that shows her wearing a black sports bra and matching leggings while holding her phone up to the mirror. In the flipped image, Allen’s left hand was sitting on her hip, and the diamond ring she has been wearing since December was clearly showing.
“Daily Mail readers gon say it’s photoshop. I AM RIPPED don’t @ me,” wrote Allen in the caption. However, many of her 1.2 million followers weren’t focused on her toned figure. Instead, they wanted Allen to dish about the ring.
“Um…. engagement ring??????????????” asked one follower, and Allen responded with a reference to the famous 1999 Brad Pitt film Fight Club. The singer wrote: “first rule of engagement club………”
Of course, the first rule of Fight Club is that “you do not talk about Fight Club,” as Pitt’s Tyler Durden says in the film.
Allen and Harbour went public with their relationship last September, and engagement rumors have followed the couple since December when cameras first spotted Allen with a gold band on her left ring finger during a casual stroll with Harbour in New York City.
The British singer-songwriter was married to Sam Cooper from 2011 to 2018, and the former couple share two daughters: Ethel, 8, and Marnie, 7. During an interview with Cosmopolitan UK in 2018, Allen called her ex-husband “selfish” when it came to the responsibility of raising their children.
“I had always assumed I’d chuck my kid over my shoulder and take them around the world. But Sam didn’t want that,” she said at the time. “He didn’t think it was a stable environment for them. I think it was quite selfish. He got to stay at home and have the family that I’d just spent three years making inside me. I had to go out and earn money and leave that family behind.”
It appears that Allen’s daughters get along well with Harbour. He has been in quarantine with Allen and her girls during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they recently threw him a dinosaur themed birthday party.
