Lili Reinhart is taking aim at those Game of Thrones fans who have started a petition demanding HBO remake the final season of the hit show.
On Thursday, Variety broke the news almost 45,000 angry fans have signed a petition in hopes the network will redo the entire last season. The petition is officially on Change.org and is titled Remake’ Game of Thrones’ Season 8 With Competent Writers.”
“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss “have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e., the books) to fall back on,” read part of the official petition description.

The petition also indicates fans deserve a better final season. Fans are not thrilled with the last episodes, which have been full of noteworthy deaths and onscreen flubs such as a Starbucks cup noticeably seen in the most recent episode. Devoted fans have waited two years for the final six shows, which have not been a massive success with viewers.
Riverdale star Reinhart is using social media to slam the petition and defend the hit HBO show.
“This is not how television works… TV shows are not fan service. It’s ridiculous of people to think they can demand creative change from artists,” the 22-year-old chimed in on all the backlash.
Her comments did not sit well with an already angry mob of fans, and a couple of them used the post to remind her, TV shows become hits because of fans.
“@lilireinhart Well Lilly, that makes you a very unintelligent actress. After all, without the fans and the viewers, shows like this wouldn’t exist. Shake your head,” wrote thebosslady_007
“@lilireinhart and that’s why Riverdale was only good for one season hun if you were a longtime fan you would understand why us fans are upset,” veggiestraws_hoe
Game of Thrones fans are fed up with the final season because of rushed storylines, unexplained loose ends, and characters doing things that do not feel true to their characters nature. If their anger of the last season was not enough now, they are coming for Riverdale star Lili Reinhart who essentially said their outrage was “ridiculous.”
HBO has not commented on all the unhappy fans. The network is no stranger to ending their hit series in ways that leave fans displeased. The Sopranos bizarre and shocking ending is a perfect example. Fans were left confused, but the network never issues an explanation.
What do you think about the final season of Game of Thrones, as well Reinhart’s remarks?
