The rapper is in a bit of hot water because of what he had to say in response to the death of George Floyd. As you know, many celebrities have been expressing their frustration over the tragic police-caused death and demanding for justice to be found but Lil Wayne suggested to ‘place the blame on ourselves’ and that did not sit well with social media!

That being said, many are now asking that he gets ‘canceled!’

At the time, the famous rapper was on IG Live with Fat Joe.

Lil Wayne enraged many by suggesting that everyone is to blame, including the activists, not only the police officers involved and the legal system in general.

As far as he is concerned, tragedies like that happen because there is not much action being taken aside from the initial protesting and outraged posts online.

‘We have to stop placing the blame on the entire force or a certain race, or everyone with a badge… And if we want to place the blame on anyone, it should be ourselves for not doing more than what we think we are doing. Some people just put a tweet out and think they did something,’ he argued.

He went on to say, in part, that ‘Did you actually help the person? Did you actually help the family?, if I ain’t about to do all that, then I ain’t about to do nothing. What we need to do is we need to learn about it more. If we wanna protest about something, know what we’re protesting about. Because if we wanna get into it, there’s a bunch of facts that we think we know that we don’t know. … We scream about things that, sometimes, they really ain’t true.’

In the end of his rant, he stressed that he is still trying to educate himself on the topic and judging by the negative responses he received, it seems like he’s got a lot of studying to do!

I think all Lil Wayne is saying is that this sht is happening everyday but only when someone catches it on video does it become the world's problem. You want to protest, let's protest out front of the white house. Don't do it in your hood. Don't forget!!! Don't forget! Let's March! MLK TO THE WHITE HOUSE TO DC FROM ATL. WHY SHOULD IT BE ANOTHER NOT GUILTY BCUZ HE WAS IN FEAR OF HIS LIFE, WHAT??? WHAT ABOUT BEING AFRAID EVERYDAY EVERY TIME YOU SEE A COWARD BEHIND A BADGE. THAT'S NOT AN OFFICER. A police officer a real one protects and serves. Man do you know how much power we have if we all stood together and took care of each other. No more crimes so arrests are down which mean prisons are getting empty. No need for police becuz we police ourselves. Jobs will be lost politicians won't know how to win. What will they say. The people hold the power. Don't be mad at Wayne he is just expressing his opinion but said himself he is trying to educate himself on this matter. He expressed himself in a way that differs from us but he knows where his roots are. What I get from it is stop letting it go until it happens again. I got it, do something about it that count, not create more violence bcuz then, they become right and the animals are at it again. Animals, they are the animals, hiding behind badges, hiding from the reality. #DCMarchlikeMLK

He's seriously being misunderstood here. He usually is. He looks a certain way but he is very insightful. He is right. Everyone has to own responsibility for us to to fix the real problem: the system. Wayne helps and has always helped his communities. He stays out of current events usually because he doesn't speak on topics that he is not fully aware of.
