According to local media, rappers Kodak Black and Lil Wayne have run into some trouble with police at a Miami hip-hop festival, leading to a missed performance for Nicki Minaj's mentor -- and an actual arrest for Kodak Black.

While Black was taken in by authorities, Reginae Carter's father was stopped by officers for a search, which caused him to miss a scheduled show at the event.

Reports about the incident have been rather vague so far, and it is not clear what exactly led to the frisking of Wayne.

There are some conflicting reports that indicate it might have been local security rather than the police, but most fingers so far are pointed towards police officials.

Meanwhile, authorities have confirmed the arrest of Black -- real name Bill Kapri born Dieuson Octav -- with an announcement that the rapper had been taken into custody during the entertainment event.

This is not the first time the rapper has had a run-in with the law, as he has apparently been arrested on various charges in the past.

Authorities have not confirmed the reason for his latest arrest, although this has not stopped many of the rapper's fans from speculating.

His pending court appearances mean that he will likely have to miss any performances he might have scheduled for the coming days/weeks. He could face up to ten years in prison.

More information will likely be revealed as the court case begins. A lot of attention is currently focused on Kodak's situation because of his lewd comments about Nipsey Hussle's girlfriend, Lauren London, and the nasty fight with The Game and T.I.

One person had this reaction to the news: "Although people may feel it's payback for Nip but in reality jail is hell he a young knucklehead I don't wish jail on him by any means jail should be for the very wicked individuals."

Another commenter said: "I feel so bad for this man... No guidance or mental support from anybody. Just walked out the hood, became rich and famous without changing his ways. He needs someone to educate him.. that hood mentality never changes just because you get rich."

This music lover stated: "Probation and a fine! Don't wish jail on ANYONE unless the really did something that's jail worthy! 10 years is the max for the charges he WILL NOT get 10 years just like Jessie didn't 30 years! 🤷🏽‍♂️"

Will this drama affect Black's career as a whole?
