Lil’ Uzi Vert promised he would pay for a fan’s college tuition back in 2019, and it looks like he has fulfilled that self-imposed obligation. According to Hot New Hip Hop, Lil Uzi Vert met up with a young man back in August of 2019 who told him his educational goals, more specifically, how he wanted to pay for them.
Mr. Ahmad jokingly asked the rapper if he would pay for his education, and Lil Uzi Vert surprisingly obliged. Apparently, Lil Uzi Vert told him he would pay his tuition but only under one condition.
Rather than blow him off completely, Uzi stopped and spoke with him for a moment, and the young man told him he was in the middle of a college education at Temple University which is a school in Pennslyvania (it also happens to be the place where Bill Cosby’s accuser worked, Andrea Constand).
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Lil Uzi Vert told the fan that he “could pay for that” because it was a good cause. However, he wouldn’t pay for it until he graduated. In a video shared on his social media, Ahmad shared that the payment was currently underway.
Reportedly, Ahmad studied Political Science with a minor in Economics at Temple University. He says Roc Nation put down $20,000 for his education. Mr. Ahmad then went on to talk about his life situation, including the fact that his mother was single following the death of his father.
He was eight-years-old at the time of his death, and it had a massive impact on the trajectory of his life at the time. Ahmad said that “obviously,” having someone pay for his education and not having crushing debt would make a big difference in his life.
Ahmad also praised Lil Uzi Vert and said he was a “real one” for supporting his post-secondary education. The last time Lil Uzi Vert was in the headlines was over the rumors that A$AP Rocky and Rihanna had started dating.
Reportedly, the rapper took to his social media to deny that they were sleeping together, although, it appeared as though he was merely joking about having his heartbroken.
