Lifetime is pulling out all the stops to document Meghan Markle’s epic romance with Prince Harry. The network is currently working on its upcoming special, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, and has officially cast two new exciting characters: Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
According to E! Online, New Zealand actress Bonnie Soper will play Diana while British star Maggie Sullivun will portray Her Majesty in Lifetime’s romantic special. Filming for the movie is already underway in Vancouver and it is expected to premiere sometime this spring.

Soper and Sullivun join Murray Fraser, who is playing Prince Harry, and Parisa Fitz-Henley, who will star as Markle. Fitz-Henley is best known for her role in Marvel’s Jessica Jones.
Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, produced by Meredith Finn and Michael Weiss, will document the story of Markle and Harry’s romance, starting with how they met and ending with their highly anticipated wedding.
The project will also explore all the controversies surrounding the couple’s romance, including the actress’ troubled family life and her first failed marriage. Terrance Coli and Scarlett Lacey wrote the script for the TV film while Menhaj Huda is helming the project.
Markle has been plagued with a lot of family drama over the past year. Although she has a great relationship with her mom, Markle’s half-sister and half-brother have both made controversial comments about their childhoods together.
To make matters worse, this isn’t the first time Markle has walked down the aisle. The actress was married to Trevor Engelson for two years before divorcing in 2013.
While fans wait for the finished product, Fitz-Henley and Fraser were recently spotted on the set of the film in Vancouver. Fans reacted positively to Fitz-Henley’s casting, because of her remarkable resemblance to Markle.
Fraser, on the other hand, didn’t get the green light on social media. The actor is a handsome guy, but apart from the red hair, he really doesn’t look like Harry. Hopefully, a little camera work and makeup will fix all that.
In addition to the photos, Fitz-Henley shared a few snaps from the set, including a few steamy shots of her and Fraser in bed. The images make it clear that the show will not waste any time getting under the sheets, which should satisfy fans to no end. “Sweet Dreams to you Love,” Fitz-Henley captioned the image.
Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance is scheduled to premiere this coming fall. The premiere date should line up perfectly with Harry and Markle’s actual wedding, which will happen on May 19 inside St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Harry and Markle have not commented on the Lifetime movie. The network produced a similar project when Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot a few years back. William and Middleton later admitted that they had fun watching their romance unfold on television, so there’s a good chance that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be tuning in as well.
