Was Liam Hemsworth blinded by his love for Miley Cyrus for so many years? Apparently, the actor now understands why it took his family so long to truly accept their relationship before it all ended last year.

Now that Liam Hemsworth is over his longtime romance with Miley Cyrus , rumor has it that the rose-colored glasses are off as well and he finally gets where his loved ones were coming from and why they took ‘a long time to come around’ to their pairing.

Doing ‘a lot of listening’ to his family in the aftermath has helped a lot with making him understand as well, one insider tells HollywoodLife.

It’s no secret that when Liam and Miley decided to have a divorce only eight months after tying the knot, things did not end on good terms and in the past year, Liam has managed to finally understand his family’s stance when it comes to his now-ex.

‘Liam felt like Miley just aired their issues out to the public while he kept it quiet, going to Australia to be with his family. His family is really private, reserved and it took a while for them all to get used to Miley being so out there. It took them a very long time to come around to their relationship. They have done a lot of talking to Liam during the divorce about their feelings and he has listened and is seeing what they have been saying all these years,’ the source stated.

They went on to explain that ‘they both aren't the biggest fans of one another now and did not end up on good terms because both were so upset. There is no reason for them to still talk and it is painful. They still have mutual friends but haven't communicated at all for some time. They both see the break-up differently and handled things differently as well.’
