The legendary Swedish music group took to social media yesterday to announce that they have reunited and are having a much-anticipated comeback after 35 years! They let their fans know that they’ve already recorded a few new and original songs!
The group made up of Björn Ulvaeus, 73, Agnetha Fältskog, 68, Anni-Frid Lyngstad (aka Frida), 72 and Benny Andersson, 71 posted the announcement on their official Instagram page.
The statement reads: ‘The decision to go ahead with this exciting ABBA avatar tour project had a pretty unexpected consequence. We four felt that, after 35 years, it might be fun to join forces once again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like the time had stood still and we only had been away on a very short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!’
One song that they had recorded recently is titled ‘I Still Have Faith in You’ and is expected to be dropped at the end of this year via a TV special that is going to be airing on both BBC and NBC.
As for their second song, the band is yet to announce any details.
‘We may have come of age, but the song’s new. And it feels good,’ they mentioned in the statement.
As you may be aware, a hi-tech, virtual reunion of the famous group has been in the works since 2016 and is being brought to life in collaboration with the creator of American Idol, Simon Fuller.
Abba is one of the most iconic music acts ever!
They have sold about 375 million records since their forming in 1972.
Unfortunately, in 1982, the group split after both couples broke up.
