The actor’s son, Director Ron Howard, took to social media today to announce his regrettable death. Rance Howard was 89 years old.
‘Clint and I have been blessed to be Rance Howard’s sons. Today he passed away at 89. He stood especially tall for his ability to balance ambition with personal integrity. A depression-era farm boy, his passion for acting changed the course of our family history. We love and miss you, Dad,’ Ron tweeted.
As fans of his work may be aware, Rance’s fantastic career spanned more than sixty years!
His very first film was 1956’s Frontier Woman.
He also acted in Eye for an Eye, the classic China Town, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Beautiful Mind, and Nebraska!
The man also appeared in some of his son Ron’s films, such as Cocoon, Splash, and Grand Theft Auto and worked with him on the popular TV show Happy Days.
Other hit shows that had the honor to cast him were: Diagnosis Murder, She Wrote, Dallas, Married With Children, Babylon 5 and Seinfeld!
