Patrick Stewart will appear in the upcoming reboot of the Charlies Angels movies, starring alongside Kristen Stewart, Ella Balinska, and Naomi Scott. The Zach And Miri Make A Porno alum, Elizabeth Banks, is directing the movie.
Previously, Banks was ready to portray Bosley, the person who acted as the middleman between the secret agents and Charlie, the employer and owner of The Townsend Agency. So far, the studio hasn’t decided on how will play Charlie, the women’s boss.
In the original series, Charlie was never actually seen, his voice was only heard. The first instalment of Charlie’s Angels in the early 2000’s – starring Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, and Cameron Diaz – kept up with the tradition.
Reportedly, the new Charlie’s Angels flick follows a modern group of women who fight crime all over the world, providing defense and intelligence services to valued clients.

I will always be very proud to have been a part of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but when we wrapped that final movie in the spring of 2002, I truly felt my time with Star Trek had run its natural course. It is, therefore, an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Seeking out new life for him, when I thought that life was over. During these past years, it has been humbling to hear stories about how The Next Generation brought people comfort, saw them through difficult periods in their lives or how the example of Jean-Luc inspired so many to follow in his footsteps, pursuing science, exploration and leadership. I feel I'm ready to return to him for the same reason – to research and experience what comforting and reforming light he might shine on these often very dark times. I look forward to working with our brilliant creative team as we endeavor to bring a fresh, unexpected and pertinent story to life once more. #StarTrek @cbsallaccess Photo: @shervinfoto
According to a report from Deadline, Jay Basu and Elizabeth Banks re-drafted the script written by Craig Mazin and Semi Chellas. And the movie is coming out on the 27th of September, 2019.
As it was previously reported, Kristen Stewart spoke about the reboot of the 1970’s TV show during an interview on the red carpet recently. The actress admitted that a lot of people online weren’t happy with the news, considering it’s the second time the studios have done so.
However, following the push to have women star in films in leading roles, Hollywood is pressing hard for remakes of classic films, including the box office success, Ocean’s 8, which was a quasi-sequel to the movies starring Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and George Clooney.
The former star of the Twilight series explained that they have a fresh take on Charlie’s Angels, and fans should be ready to watch something new and exciting.
