Laurence Fishburne Says He Wasn't Asked To Join Cast Of Matrix 4
Laurence Fishburne won't return for the next installment of the Matrix franchise, a report from People Magazine revealed today. During a new interview with New York Magazine, Fishburne sat down with reporters and explained how he hadn't been asked to come back for the next part of the series.
Fishburne said bluntly that he hasn't been "invited." Laurence went on to say that maybe it would allow him to "write another play." He wished them well and hoped out loud that the following Matrix movie would be great.
Fishburne says his role of Morpheus will likely be the role he's most known for, however, it won't be the only thing he's famous for either. Laurence joked how his character was kind of like a combination of some of the best personalities of all time, including Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Bruce Lee, and Muhammad Ali.
According to multiple reports, Reeves was recently seen with his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, in Berlin, Germany, alongside some of the other main cast including Neil Patrick Harris, Carrie-Ann Moss, and Jonathan Groff.
During a chat with Empire Magazine, Reeves praised the script for The Matrix 4 , saying how it had a "wonderful" storyline. Keanu says she wrote a "beautiful script" and a "wonderful story" and he couldn't be happier to play a part in it.
Reeves went on to say that it was the only reason to star in it. Working with Lana is "amazing," the actor remarked. According to the John Wick star, The Matrix is a meaningful franchise with a lot of interesting things to say. He says there is something everyone can get from it in "nourishment form."
The Hollywood Reporter revealed earlier this year that The Matrix 4 was pushed back due to the pandemic, and studios say it'll come out on the 1st of April, 2022.
Of course, this wouldn't be the first time a movie was postponed until a later date. It was announced at the beginning of the year that Daniel Craig's last portrayal of James Bond in No Time To Die , was pushed to the end of the year.
