Lady Gaga Teams Up With Klarna To Launch A Ring For The Get What You Love Campaign
Lady Gaga has a new love interest but is focusing on herself. The pop queen proposed to herself with a special edition ring in a partnership with the Klarna app.
This year is a leap year. There is a superstition that on leap years it’s acceptable for women to propose to men.
Gaga is doing away with the notion and telling her fans that anyone can propose to their significant other every day of the year.
She captioned a photo that flashes her custom ring with: ‘Celebrating Valentine’s Day wearing this badass ring designed by my friend @bcompleted for @klarna.usa. Did you know that an old tradition says that only during a leap year, on Feb 29th, are women allowed to propose to men? 🤦♀️ It’s 2020, and any person of any gender identity can propose to anyone, anytime! So as we all celebrate love today, I put this ring on my own finger as a sign of my love for myself and for my fans – and a reminder that we are all born superstars. 💕 #getwhatyoulove.’
The Klarna CMO stepped in on why they chose the Bad Romance musician to partner with and what makes the ring, designed by B. Åkerlund, so special.

‘Just like Lady Gaga, we at Klarna believe that if traditions go unchallenged, the status quo prevails. Why should we settle and conform to societal and industry expectations just because? The Knight’s Finger ring was created as a symbol to enable everyone to express love on their terms to whom they wish, just like our millions of shoppers can get what they love every day with Klarna.
Money made from the sale of the rings will be donated to Dress for Success, an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence.
Meanwhile, the A Star Is Born star’s romance is heating up.
