Kim Kardashian is learning to keep things strictly professional with the people that work for her. It can be hard to do that with someone like an assistant who hangs out with their boss almost 24/7. News recently broke that Mrs. West let go of her assistant of four years after it became too much.

In a recent episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kourtney told her younger sister that her best friend, and Kim's executive assistant, wasn't happy with her current position.

Stephanie Shepard reportedly told Kourtney that she wasn't fulfilled job-wise which put Kim in a very awkward place. As with most episodes, the problem was seemingly resolved by the end of the hour.

The show was taped months ago and it's reported that shortly after Kim gave Stephanie a bigger role -- a decision that didn't end on a good note.

A source told Hollywood Life: "she was a good assistant, but when Stephanie wanted to transition into a larger role with Kim’s brand and businesses, it just didn’t work. Kim gave her the chance, but after a short period of time it became clear that Stephanie just didn’t have the knowledge to take on a role like that. Kim made an executive decision to part ways."

The decision was necessary but a factor that makes it even more uncomfortable than it already is is that Stephanie is very close to the other sisters. You can often spot her on Kourtney's Instagram calling each other "wifey."

Shepard has maintained a relationship with the other KarJenners but her and Kim "don't really speak."

When Kim brought up the situation to Khloe, she compared it to when her best friend, Malika Haqq, used to work for her. The only difference this time is that Malika and Khloe maintained their relationship after parting ways.

Do you think that it's okay to be close friends with someone that works for you?
