Fashion enthusiasts were pretty quick to call Kim Kardashian out after noticing that a few items from her Kid Supply clothing line were actually identical to other pieces that were curated by Rei Kawakubo and Demna Gvasalia. Check out more details on what it seems it really happened.
Fans quickly took to their social media accounts, and they made sure to show off their frustrations with Kim.
Kim’s reps said that it’s all one big misunderstanding and they carefully made sure to explain the whole situation to PageSix as following:
‘The idea behind Kids Supply is to give people the opportunity to purchase things that would never be available for children otherwise. We decided to release the Demma dress after making one on our own for North because it got such a great reaction and overflow for people wanting it for their children.’
‘We named it the Demna dress as a way to pay homage to him as it was one of Kim and North’s favorite mom and me moments. The Rei jacket was a mixture of some of our favorite souvenir jacket art. We named it the Rei Jacket out of the utmost respect for her,’ the statement added just to make sure it proves just how much inspiration Kim took from the designers that we have mentioned above.
Kim’s clothing line for kids will do much more than simply paying tribute to some of her most favorite designers. Kim plans to donate 100% of the proceeds from both these pieces to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Kim hopes that these explanations will be able to put both her fans and all fashion enthusiasts’ anger at rest. But will the result be the one that she expects?
