Kid Rock is the latest celebrity to make a generous, charitable move by paying off Walmart shoppers’ layaway debts. Tyler Perry made headlines earlier this week when he gifted $430,000 to two Georgia Walmarts that was applied to approximately 1500 customer’s layaway plans. Kid Rock performed his charitable Christmas act in Nashville and donated $81,000 towards layaway. The amount paid off layaway Christmas items for 350 families.
News about Kid Rock’s Christmas cheer was announced in a Facebook post.
“Today, our store got a call from Kid Rock saying that he wanted to pay off all of our customers’ remaining layaway balances! His gift is bringing incredible joy to about 350 families in Nashville and we’re happy our store could be a part of it.”
The Nashville Walmart shared a photo of three girls who were beaming with happiness as they held up a sign that thanked the musician for his generous gift.

It is no coincidence that Tyler Perry and Kid Rock both donated the funds to Walmart. Rock later stated that it was Tyler Perry’s generosity and charity that inspired him to do the same.
Kid Rock saw the story regarding Tyler Perry and responded on Twitter that he thought the idea was great and he was going to follow suit. Talk about paying it forward!
After Kid Rock made the phone call, informing the Nashville Walmart of his plans, his manager arrived at the store in person and gave the money.
Those in Nashville weren’t surprised that Kid Rock would follow in Perry’s footsteps and make his own donation. Kid Rock has garnered a reputation for being down-to-earth, laid back, and extremely generous.

Born in Michigan as Robert Ritchie, Kid Rock calls Nashville, Tennessee home and his fellow neighbors thanked him for his kind gesture on social media.
According to reports, customers who had their Walmart layaway paid off will receive a note letting them know that Kid Rock paid their debt.
