Kesha fans will be upset to hear that the 30-year-old singer has to postpone some of her concert dates because of her doctor’s orders.
The “Tik Tok” singer took to Instagram on the 20th of February to share that she is going under the knife to repair her torn ACL. Celebrity Insider reported earlier that Kesha fell during a performance in Dubai, effectively cutting her concert short.
Kesha said she was “heartbroken” to tell the world the news especially because the injury comes from performing other dates. And while it’s her “biggest joy” to share music with her fans and the world, if she’s injured, she just can’t make it to her shows.
I’m heartbroken to be writing this right now. I am being forced to postpone some of my upcoming international dates due to a recent injury I sustained while performing. It’s my biggest joy in life to share my music with my fans all over the world, but I have to follow my doctors orders and undergo surgery to repair my torn ACL so I can get ready to give it all on my Summer tour and beyond. Moving these dates is making me sick with sadness, but I tried to will this injury away and unfortunately it didn't work. I love you all and I’ll work every single day as hard as i can to recover and get back on stage as soon as possible. I’m so sorry and sending love always ❤️
The Grammy-nominated singer finished off her post with an apology to her fans. She stated, “I’m so sorry and sending love always.”
As you may know, Kesha recently performed at the 2018 Grammy Awards on the 28th of January, New York City, just after fighting it out in court against her old producer, Dr. Luke.
Her song, “Praying,” is inspired by that court battle, making it unusually personal for her and her fans. Celebrity Insider reported last year that Kesha and Dr. Luke were going at it in a court of law due to allegations of verbal and mental abuse.
The lawsuit came to light in 2014. Other stars such as Kelly Clarkson and Pink came out to support Kesha in her fight with the producer, with Kelly stating she refused to work with him because of his behavior. Pink made similar statements.
Additionally, Kesha requested to be released from her contract with Sony Records, which the company denied. In August of 2016, Kesha dropped the lawsuit and instead, chose the wise path and began focusing on music.
