Well, that did not take long. Following Julie Chen’s surprise departure from The Talk , inside sources claim that former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore wants to return to television and take over Chen’s old spot. Will Moore be the next co-host of The Talk ?

“Kenya wants that seat on The Talk and she’s working overtime behind the scenes to get the job,” the insider dished.

The source says that Moore wants to act fast before her star power fades. She also desperately wants to prove everyone wrong on RHOA by becoming a bigger star than any of old co-stars.

As fans will recall, producers fired Moore because she refused to allow the cameras to document every aspect of her life, especially in regard to her marriage to Marc Daly.

Moore is already expecting her first kid with Daly and is due sometime in November. The former RHOA star is planning on returning to work as quickly as possible and landing a spot on The Talk is at the top of her list.

Moore has already made contacts with producers on the show and believes she has a good shot as Chen’s replacement.

Chen took a leave of absence in the wake of her husband, Les Moonves’, controversial sexual assault scandal. CBS fired Moonves after several women came forward and claimed he sexually harassed them. Chen has remained in support of her husband and revealed her departure from the talk show this week.

Chen confirmed the news in a special video released on social media. In the clip, Chen thanked fans for their support and said she was thankful to be a part of such a great show.

Chen also bid farewell to her co-hosts, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert, Eve, and Sheryl Underwood.

CBS has not commented on Kenya Moore joining The Talk next season.

I would love to see Kenya as a co-host. Unlike some of the other Real Housewives, her speech and grammar are impeccable, she is well-educated, versatile, extremely intelligent and can carry on meaningful conversations about more than just trivial matters.

Kenya would be an excellent co-host. She's very articulate and knowledgeable. I have seen a lot of her reviews and she well spoken with thought in her responses. I found her to be very truthful and engaging.
