Kenya Moore Celebrates Baby Daly As 'RHOA' Ratings Plunge For Season 11
The ratings for Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta have taken a major hit, and former RHOA star Kenya Moore is probably thrilled about it. The Season 11 premiere tanked in the ratings, leaving many fans wondering if Moore's exit is to blame for the downturn.
The opening episode for the new season of RHOA only drew 1.9 million fans. This is a 20 percent decline from last season's premiere, which had 2.43 million viewers. The numbers for the Season 11 opener are the lowest in the past decade.
In fact, only the 2008 series premiere was worse at 650,000 viewers. Ratings for the show peaked in 2014 when 3.8 million fans watched the Season 7 premiere.
Why the dip in numbers? It is possible that Moore's absence is contributing to the low ratings.
Moore stirred up a lot of drama last season when she failed to tell anyone about her wedding with Marc Daly. She then refused to allow cameras to film her new husband, which reportedly led to a suspension.
When producers asked Moore to take a salary cut this season, she flatly refused and was not asked back. According to Reality Blurb , many RHOA fans protested Moore's firing and some even showed up at the network's headquarters to voice their concern.
Moore has not said anything about the ratings plunge. She did, however, attempt to stir up drama with NeNe Leakes at a recent event. With the cameras rolling, Moore showed up at Cynthia Bailey's party and tried to confront Leakes about a previous issue.
Leakes did not take the bait and refused to fight with Moore. It is not clear if Bravo will include the footage in the new season, but inside sources say that producers still want nothing to do with her.
"Kenya Moore overplayed her cards... She thought by showing up and creating drama it would get her back on the show. It won't," the insider dished.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta air Sunday nights on Bravo.
