It looks like R&B singers Ciara and Kelly Rowland are officially in the holiday spirit!
The two friends recently visited a children’s hospital in Seattle to bring some Christmas cheer to ill little boys and girls. The child patients were both surprised and delighted at the presence of the singers accompanied by Barry Black on the guitar.
Not only did Ciara and Kelly lend their voices to a little musical pick-me-up for them but they also came bearing gifts. They presented the kids with an Amazon gift box that had numerous Amazon Fire HD 7s and Amazon Fire HD 8s inside. The gift box was so massive, it came to just about six feet tall!
Now those kids have a way to entertain themselves and take their minds off whatever ails them, if only momentarily, by reading stories or watching movies on their cool new Amazon Fires.
The parents of the children there were especially delighted and toughed. It is an unimaginable stressor to have a sick child and it’s even more tough around the holidays when what they’re used to and know is taken from them, replaced by doctors, unfamiliar beds and medicines. One mother was just so relieved because the singers managed to bring smiles to the kids’ faces.
This type of surprise visit also does a tremendous job of getting the kids minds off of their constant pain and other symptoms they deal with on a regular basis. For once, the kids could just relax and have fun while enjoying the attention of people who weren’t doctors or their parents. A good and necessary thing for kids to experience.
It’s always nice when celebrities and those who have the resources and means to give back to the community, spend their time and money in ways that deeply benefit those who are less fortunate. In this particular case, the compromised health of a child could happen to anyone. But the presence of positive and jovial energy that come bearing good wishes and fun songs can really lift the spirits of these little ones who are struggling.
