According to Page Six, Kelly Ripa is super proud of her son, Michael Consuelos, for moving out of his parents' house and becoming an independent young man. Earlier this week, Kelly Ripa stated that her son was "living in extreme poverty," after he moved to Bushwick, New York after his NYU graduation.

Kelly explained that while Michael lived with her and her husband, life was very good and he didn't want for anything, however, after striking out on his own, things changed. Kelly joked with the host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Michael never used to care about receiving $20 from his grandparents in October, but that changed quickly.

However, some people on social media didn't like the way in which Kelly used the term "extreme poverty," to describe her son's situation, considering Ripa reportedly earns around $20 million from her hosting duties on Live With Kelly and Ryan.

In response to some of the backlash online, Kelly described her critics as a mere "pack of fools." The 49-year-old took to her IG to address some of her critics, including one who asked if her son, Michael, has ever even had a job before.

Ripa responded, "Michael goes to college and is a senior and works full time." Fans of Ripa have really come to know that she's doesn't back down from a good trolling on social media, often retorting with her own quips.

According to the Live With Kelly and Ryan host, neither she nor Michael grew up "privileged," and they've done nothing but work hard their entire lives, and they expect their son to do the same. "And the fact that pack of fools wants to b*tch about that, I say let'em."

Moreover, Ripa went on to post an ostensibly naked photo of her husband on Instagram. An insider who spoke with Page Six claimed that Kelly was trying to poke fun at her son, who recently learned to "adult" - using the term as a verb rather than a noun.
