Kelly Cutrone just accused Russell Simmons of “attempting” to rape her. In an interview with Page Six, Kelly said Russell attempted to rape her one evening back in 1991 when Simmons led her to his apartment rather than her’s.
She said in the interview that Russell pulled her into his home and threw her down on the floor before attempting to tear all of her clothes off.
Kelly said she started “kicking him” hard and screaming for him to “get the f*ck off of me,” and she would have someone murder him if he ever laid a hand on her.
On Wednesday, Russell addressed all of the allegations and said they were untrue, frivolous, and hurtful. As for why she chose to come out with her stories now, Kelly said it was Russell’s use of the term, “#NotMe,” on Instagram which prompted an emotional reaction.
Kelly said that to her, the hashtag, “#NotMe,” was a call out for men to commit sexual violence against women.
As of a result of the cases against the former Def Jam Records owner, E! News confirmed that the NYPD had begun an investigation into the alleged crimes of Russell Simmons. In a statement to the publication, Russell said he intends to comply fully with the authorities.
As you may know, Russell’s trouble began when the model Keri Claussen accused Brett Ratner and him of sexual misconduct. The incident in question was investigated by the police a long time ago.
However, it resurfaced following the cascade of sexual assault allegations in recent news. Brett Ratner experienced a similar downfall after Olivia Munn among others accused him of misconduct.
