What is her secret? Kelly Clarkson has managed to get rid of no less than 37 unwanted pounds over the last few months! Being in the spotlight, the singer has been fat-shamed many times, but it looks like all of that rude criticism has motivated her to get healthier.
According to the star, her weight loss success had a lot to do with a book called The Plant Paradox: The Hidden Dangers in ‘Healthy’ Foods That Cause Disease and Weight Gain, by Steven Gundry.
In addition, her new diet has also helped a lot with her thyroid problems.
While on the Today show, Clarkson shared that ‘I had an autoimmune disease and a thyroid problem that started in like 2006. I read this book…it might not work for you but it worked wonderfully. Here is the best part, ya’ll, it is not even the weight- I mean, I know the industry loves the weight gone, but I mean, for me, it was not really the weight. For me it was like, I am not on my medicine anymore. My blood work came back, and I have not been on my medicine since like February.’
As for working out, she joked that ‘I do wine instead.’
That being said, Kelly assured the audience that she still enjoys foods such as fried chicken and cake but always cooks with alternative ingredients such as almond flour and tapioca.
‘And honestly, I’m going to be real with you, it is really expensive to do. I wish the government would back humanity on this, ’cause it is really hard to find. I was poor growing up, and there is no way my family could’ve afforded this. It helped out so much with health. My autoimmune disease is like, gone and I am like 37 pounds lighter in my pleather.’
