Kelis responded to Nas’ custody filing regarding their six-year-old son, Knight. According to court documents, as obtained by Us Weekly, Nas wants a “specific and reliable shared custody schedule” whereby he has the child on the 1st and 3rd weekend every month.
However, Kelis wants a court hearing for her to testify. Back on the 29th of December, Kelis responded to the filing and indicated why she needed more time to decide on how to proceed with the custody-situation.
According to the documents, Kelis obtained her lawyer on the 27th of December, 2017, and her new attorney needs time to familiarize himself with all of the relevant documents and information.
The “Milkshake” singer said she was “not available” to “furnish” the information that he requires, and that makes sense, considering the last-minute nature as to how she retained her lawyer.
Kelis and Nas got married back in January of 2005, and the singer filed for divorce in 2009 when she was seven months pregnant with Knight.
They welcomed their baby in July of 2009, and their divorce was finished in May of 2010. Reportedly, Nas said that the solution to the custody battle could not be delayed any longer. Allegedly, Kelis hasn’t responded to the attempt to resolve the matter amicably.
The documents read that Nas has attempted many times to figure out a planned, cohesive schedule for their son. But, according to the rapper and his attorney, his “deferral” to her demands has not resulted in an amicable situation for Nas, Kelis, or their son, Knight.
As you may know, Nas has been seen hanging out with Nicki Minaj on multiple occasions. Strangely enough, the rapper and Kelis broke up in the middle of her pregnancy, so we can only assume that the rapper did something to make her mad. Will the same thing happen with Nicki?
