Has it really been that long that the actress doesn’t even remember who her character in Love Actually ends up with? It seems so!
Keira Knightley, alongside Nutcracker and the Four Realms co-star Mackenzie Foy, was part of a WIRED interview during which they answered some of the most searched questions about them on the internet.
That being said, one result was: ‘Who does Keira Knightley end up with in Love Actually.’
But while the star herself would be expected to know the answer to that burning question, Keira was stumped.
‘I don’t remember!’ she exclaimed. ‘Who do I end up with in Love Actually?’
17-year-old Foy was unable to help her as she admitted that ‘I haven’t seen it. I’m sorry!’
‘I mean, I’m with my husband aren’t I? Aren’t I with Chiwetel Ejiofor?’ Keira asks trying to figure it out.
The actress is referring to his character, Peter who, Juliet [her character] marries at the beginning of the film.
‘I’ve only seen it once, and it was a really long time ago,’ Knightly confesses and waits for someone off-camera to confirm the answer.
‘So I don’t go off with Andrew Lincoln?’ she asks, referring to the actor playing her movie husband’s best friend, Mark.
Finally, Keira confirms, laughing: ‘I’m with Chiwetel Ejiofor.’
The scene in the 2003 film is one of the most iconic ever, even though the person in it doesn’t remember it much!
In short, her character, Juliet, marries Peter at the start of the movie and for the longest time, she assumes her husband’s best friend hates her when in fact, he’s in love with her.
The iconic scene starts when Mark finally decides to confess his feelings on Christmas by coming to her door.
He holds cue cards so her husband wouldn’t hear his confession.
‘Without hope or agenda, just because it’s Christmas (and at Christmas, you tell the truth), to me you are perfect,’ it reads in part.
