Kate Middleton is officially back in action. The Duchess of Cambridge returned to her royal duties this week with a quick appearance at London’s Sayers Croft Forest School and Wildlife Garden, marking her first royal engagement since giving birth to Prince Louis earlier this year.
Middleton opted for a casual appearance as she mingled with children at the school. The mother-of-three donned jeans and jumper for the outing, complete with a light jacket. Middleton visited the school to promote a project about wildlife awareness, and helped kids search for insects and other creatures in the garden. She even took time to pose with several of the youngsters, which resulted in a few adorable photo ops.
Despite having a child back in April, Middleton appeared as fit as ever and looked like she enjoyed her first royal engagement since the birth. This, of course, was not the first time we’ve seen Middleton in public since she had Louis.
According to Daily Mail, Middleton attended a match at the Wimbledon tennis tournament and was spotted at the Trooping the Colour event, which was held back in June. The school visit, however, was her first official royal engagement since she took maternity leave.
Middleton has always been supportive of child-related causes. In September, she announced plans to start a massive project to help kids in dire circumstances. Middleton hopes that the program will provide the support children need to get out of poverty and reach higher goals in life.
Middleton is collaborating with educators and health experts around the country to combat mental health issues and addiction, two common issues facing families today.
With her maternity leave now over, Middleton is scheduled for more royal appearances in the near future.
Fans can expect to see more of Kate Middleton through the holidays, though she is not expected to resume a full schedule until after the New Year.
