Kanye West is still hard at work when it comes to running for the presidency this year. Hot New Hip Hop reported today that the legendary rapper is petitioning for a position on the Ohio ballot.

In case you missed it, Kanye announced he was going to run for the top position in the Oval Office on the 4th of July, The rapper's announcement was met with praise but also criticism, including by some prominent members of the Hollywood community.

Last month, Kanye gave a speech at a South Carolina rally which was widely reported on in the media for the rapper's comments about abortion and his own experiences with it. West cried on stage while discussing how he and his wife once discussed aborting their first child.

Since then, the Ye artist has continued ramping up his efforts to become the president this year. Multiple reports have claimed Kanye has been hard at work to collect signatures so he can make it on the ballot in a number of states, including in Illinois.

TMZ was the first to report that Kanye is trying to get on the Ohio ballot as well. The state is one of the key swing states that often play a huge role in the election every four years. Back in 2016, Trump won the state of Ohio by just 5,000 votes.

As it was previously reported, Kanye and his team hired the third-party company, Let The Voters Decide, to help him get on the ballot in states like Arkansas, West Virginia, and Ohio. In order to make it on the ballot in Ohio, Kanye needs approximately 5,000 signatures.

Hot New Hip Hop says the artist - who recently started working with the clothing company, Gap - has 90 people on the ground searching for the required signatures.

As it was noted above, Kanye's decision to run has come under fire by other famous figures, including Jamie Foxx, who referred to the rapper as a "clown." Jamie has dissed Kanye already before, including his purported mental health struggles.
