Kanye West throwing his support behind the Donald Trump presidency was one of the most surprising twists in recent pop culture memory.
The man, who once said that “Bush doesn’t care about black people,” is now proudly wearing a Make America Great Again hat and describing slavery as a choice.
Hip-hop artists and fans around the globe were stunned by the development and even his wife, Kim Kardashian, had to rush out to say that Kanye does not support everything that the controversial New York billionaire does.
Well, his former girlfriend, activist Amber Rose, was not really shocked by what Kanye did. She finds that the two public figures have a lot in common.
Rose sat down with media personality Jesse Lee Peterson on the season premiere of The Fallen State, and she made a lot of interesting points.
The mother of one revealed: “When I first saw Trump on the podium running for president, I was like, “Oh, my God — that is Kanye in a white man’s body!” I really felt like they have the same personality, like, completely the same personality.”
She did not stop there and continued with: “I would like to think — and this is hypothetically speaking — I would like to think that Kanye met with Trump, and Trump said, ‘Look, I seen these people, I knew they were gonna vote for me, and I used them to get elected, and I can’t tell nobody that ’cause I wanna get a second term, but now that I’m in office, I really wanna make a change. Now, Kanye can’t snitch on him; he can’t snitch on himself, so maybe he’s thinking of the greater good of what Trump can do for the country? That’s what I’m assuming.”
Rose concluded the segment with a unique take and theory that does not seem to square with reality. She explained: “Kanye’s the type of person that he loves art, and he loves the art in things, so I think that he appreciates the politics that Trump used in order to get in office. Because Trump was a Democrat for like 30 years I heard, so I can only hope that Trump kind of used the white people — seemingly racist white people — to get in office maybe for the greater good. I don’t know.”
Rose and Kanye dated for one year and split in 2010. They had some nasty exchanges in the media over the years, and some people were surprised that she did not throw shade his way during the sit-down.
