After President Donald Trump went on a tirade against the whistle-blower who broke the recent story with Ukraine wide open, Senator Kamala Harris has urged social networking channel Twitter to look into the president’s activities on it, and determine whether his account violates their policies.
Because, according to Harris, Trump should be taken off Twitter at this point, and has no place posting on the platform if he is going to use it in such inappropriate ways.
Trump accused the whistle-blower of treason, spying, and claimed that the complaint represented him in a “totally inaccurate and fraudulent way” and suggested that the figure was “spying.”
He tweeted: “Was this person SPYING on the U.S. President? Big Consequences!” Harris went on to say that Trump has been misbehaving for some time now, not just on social media but in general.
The former prosecutor added that she did not see Trump as someone responsible for how he used his words in general, something which she did not see as a good quality in someone in charge of the entire nation.
While talking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper, the 2020 presidential candidate said: “The president’s tweets and his behavior about this are just further evidence of the fact that he uses his power in a way that is designed to beat people down instead of lift people up. If you look at what he’s been tweeting today directed at the whistleblower, I frankly think that based on this and all we’ve seen before, including attacking members of Congress, that his Twitter account should be suspended.”
In the end, Trump’s statements on social media have been divisive, both among his supporters as well as the political sphere in general.
Many agree that the president has gone too far with some of his statements, while others have pointed out that the platform has arguably seen worse over the time of its existence.
Pres. Trump's "Twitter account should be suspended," says Kamala Harris.
"There's plenty of…evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm…so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him." pic.twitter.com/k5SYGCuwX1

In any case, Trump himself does not seem to mind what he is saying, and the president has been moving forward with his attacks quite profoundly for some time now.
Some have noted that this could be an attempt to shake off the negative attention focused on him at the moment, though it is arguable how much success Trump could have in this regard.
