After David Eason went on a very disturbing homophobic and transphobic rant on social media, fellow Teen Mom stars, as well as many others, criticized his behavior. As you may know already, Jenelle Evans’ husband was fired by MTV following his hate speech while her own position on the show is still in danger.
Farrah Abraham, Leah Messer, and Kailyn Lowry are among the people who slammed the man.
Lowry tweeted: ‘I am absolutely disturbed by the comments David made regarding gay and transgender parents. People are removed from shows for comments like that…I just don’t understand how the network’s allowing them to get away with this.’
To show that she totally agrees, Chelsea Houska retweeted her fellow Teen Mom’s message.
Leah Messer tweeted: ‘They need HELP! Something needs to happen! This is totally disturbing, to say the least, but not surprising!’
Farrah Abraham made sure to also share a fan’s screenshots of David’s now deleted tweets that also included the message: ‘If they fired @F1abraham they should fire David and Jenelle! Homophobia’s not acceptable! #FireJenelle.’
In addition, Farrah retweeted her former boyfriend Simon Saran‘s tweet: ‘This isn’t the example we should be setting for our youth. I have many trustworthy and hardworking individuals that are Gay and Lesbians. They’re outstanding individuals. I’m proud to have them on my team. This is actually embarrassing to see someone say this. #TeenMomOG #LGBT.’
In the meantime, the fans of the show and the outraged co-stars got what they wanted because Eason was axed by MTV.
The network released an official statement explaining their decision that read: ‘David Eason’s personal comments don’t reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ effective immediately, we’re ending our relationship with him.’
