Justin Timberlake didn’t have kind words for the idea of a Las Vegas residency. As you may know, many stars including Zedd and Lady Gaga recently announced they would perform at their own residency in the Sin City of America.
Typically, in the past, performers would only establish a permanent residence in Nevada later in their career.
However, in modern times, artists are looking at Vegas as a great way to make easy money without traveling. Will we see Justin Timberlake in a Vegas residency at this point in his career?
Probably not. In a new interview, Justin said that’s “scary” to him. When speaking with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio this week, Timberlake dished on his new album, Man Of The Woods, his family, and the trajectory of his career.
When the DJ asked him about the possibility of doing a residency like Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Mariah Carey, Justin seemed reluctant.
The chart-topper said he “wouldn’t rule it out” as a possibility, but it feels odd. Low asked him if it felt like a “retirement option,” and Timberlake said it’s like “you’re planning for retirement.”
According to the “Sexy Back” singer, the person who did the Vegas residency the best was the legendary performer, Prince, who recently passed away due to an accidental drug overdose.
It isn’t likely that we’ll see Justin in Vegas anytime soon, but don’t fret, other stars have taken on that role such as The Backstreet Boys and Celine Dion.
Celebrity Insider reported yesterday that Dion had to cancel several of her concerts in Vegas due to a sickness which affected her vocal cords. While many of her fans were sympathetic, some criticized the last-minute nature of the cancelation.
