Jussie Smollett Might Be Coming Back To Empire
Jussie Smollett, the actor accused of faking a hate crime against himself for the sake of career progress and notoriety, is apparently back in the news again. BET wrote that Smollett is rumored to be coming back to Empire following comments made by Brett Mahoney, the program's showrunner.
Mahoney recently said it would be weird to end the series without bringing Jussie Smollett back into the picture. During a conversation with TVLine, Bretty purportedly insinuated that Jussie would be coming back to the award-winning program.
Paraphrasing what Mr. Mahoney stated, it would be odd for him and the rest of the producers of the series not to include Jussie for the finale due to the essential role he once played. In other words, to wrap up the program without including him would be weird for viewers.
Mr. Mahoney stated, "it's fair to say it's being discussed," before going on to admit, however, that he and the rest of the executives haven't made the decision yet. Last June, the creator of the program, Lee Daniels, assertively said on Twitter that Jussie wouldn't be coming back at all.
Daniels wrote on the account, "Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire, " with a special emphasis on the word, "not."As it was noted above, Jussie was removed from the program for his involvement in the fake-hate crime hoax at the beginning of the year.
The 37-year-old actor claimed two men had followed him out of a subway restaurant and attacked him in the streets of Chicago. Smollett claims they did a number of things to him, including throwing bleach all over him, tying a noose around his neck, yelling slurs, and punching him in the face.
However, later, the Chicago Police determined that Mr. Smollett may have been involved in the crime. He was charged with making a false police report multiple times. Later, all charges were dropped, creating a massive outrage on social media.
Even Donald Trump, the president of the United States, addressed the controversy on his social media. Donald claims he ordered the FBI to look into it.
