Earlier today on Tuesday, jurors were shown a display of the disgraced movie producer’s extravagant lifestyle before his career was destroyed by a wave of sexual misconduct accusations. Page Six claims that prosecutors put up many photos of Harvey hanging out with Bill Clinton, Quentin Tarantino, and many of the biggest stars of the modern era.
Some of the pictures of Harvey included one following his Best Picture Oscar for Shakespeare in Love. Prosecutors showed other movie premieres in addition to a photo with him and his ex-wife, Georgina Chapman, at the amfAR Gala.
At the moment, it’s not clear why prosecutors put his life upon display in such a way, but some outlets have suggested it was a way to show Harvey’s power in the movie industry.
As it was previously reported, the 67-year-old Weinstein Company alum is looking at life in prison for several sexual assault charges: one from Mimi Haleyi in 2006, another from Annabella Sciorra in the early 1990s, as well as Jessica Mann from 2013.
Earlier today, Elizabeth Entin, a personal friend, and roommate of the production assistant, Mimi Haleyi, claims Mimi called her one evening and explained how Harvey Weinstein barged into their home and became frightened by their chihuahua named Peanut.
Harvey reportedly said, “what is this thing? Get it away from me.” When the disgraced movie producer walked out of the courtroom in Manhattan earlier today, reporters asked him if he was afraid of chihuahuas and he said in response, “do I look like I’m afraid of chihuahuas?” as he strutted off with his walker.
Last week, Rosie Perez stopped by the Manhattan court to back up the claims made by The Sopranos actress, Annabella Sciorra, who accused Harvey of raping her in the early 1990s.
Similar to Mimi’s story, she claims the producer barged into her home and began unbuttoning his shirt. Annabella states that she immediately began to recognize that he thought they were going to have sex, so she protested, tried to push him off, but eventually gave up due to his much bigger size.
