Julie And Todd Chrisley Plead Not Guilty To Tax Evasion– Fans Weigh In On Chirsley Knows Best Scandal
Julie and Todd Chrisley have pleaded not guilty to tax evasion and several other financial crimes against them.
The Chrisley Knows Best stars surrendered to the FBI earlier today, after being indicted yesterday by Northern District of Georgia. There is a total of 12 different counts on the indictment against the couple, including bank fraud and wire fraud conspiracy. Their accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also indicted.
Todd maintains their innocence. Their lawyers Bruce H. Morris and Stephen M. Friedberg released a statement on Wednesday regarding the case against their clients.
“We have no doubt that if this case ever reaches a courtroom, Todd and Julie will be completely exonerated. But in the meantime, their reputation will be sullied by a shamefully unjustified prosecution based on testimony of a dishonest source who has somehow managed to successfully mislead prosecutors,” the statement to CNN read.

The reality TV couple was released on $100,000 unsecured appearance bonds. Todd and Julie are required to stay in the Atlanta area and approved parts of Tennessee. The court has granted them the right to travel to film their USA show in California but only if the probation office is notified first.
Social media has been flooded with fans weighing in on the scandal.
“Todd and Julie Chrisley can’t be going to prison because who else will I watch if they’re gone! This too much,” Tweeted @ShamiyaAshelyn
“A grand jury in Atlanta has indicted Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley on federal tax-evasion charges. I don’t think they are guilty. If they are found guilty it has to be a mistake that their accountant made,” wrote @IAMYAGOJONES
“not todd and julie chrisley possibly going to jail for bank fraud & tax evasion .. maybe they didn’t know best after all,” Tweeted @tynextjes2

Not all Twitter messages showed support for the Chrisley’s.
“I’ve never heard of Todd and Julie Chrisley. But the fact that they are “reality TV stars,” whose show “follows their family’s over-the-top lifestyle and activities,” and that they’re in jail for tax evasion and fraud, seems about right,” said @wisdomofsoloman
Todd and Julie Chrisley turned themselves into the FBI today and pled not guilty to all charges against them. They are out on bail for now. If they are found guilty, both could face decades in prison.
Next up for the couple is a trial. Until then they have been granted the ok to film Chrisley Knows Best unless USA cancels the show.
Do you think the Chrisley’s are guilty or innocent?
