Disgraced former 19 Kids & Counting star Josh Duggar has returned to social media three years after his molestation and cheating scandals, but it is for a good cause. Duggar changed his Facebook profile pic to a photo of his son Michael, and he apparently started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his parents’ friends who were in a car accident.
According to In Touch Weekly, even though the oldest Duggar sibling is back on social media for a seemingly positive reason, something seems to be shady about his return. One fan noticed that the charity that began on Duggar’s page named Janie Williams as the organizer and started asking if the 30-year-old is using the name as an alias, along with his previous alias, Joe Smithson.
Friday we traveled 436 miles to reach Waco and had a wonderful visit at the Silos! Our kids had fun playing corn toss with dad, while mom went shopping! A group of us had an amazing lunch at Magnolia Table. After lunch was finished, Mason was ready for a nap and mom was ready for coffee (a mom’s nap in cup!). Thanks Chip & Joanna for your investment in Waco… our family made many special memories! #Waco
“Both names are listed on the GoFundMe as running the campaign,” the fan wrote. “When I click on Janie’s name, it led me to Josh’s profile. I can see Josh using the common [names] Janie/Joe and common last [names] Williams/Smith to try [and] hide. I [don’t see] a Janie Williams listed as a friend on Josh’s page.”
Now the question is why Duggar would need yet another alias. Some think it might be because he is using it to sneak around. And, that idea isn’t far-fetched since he used fake names on the website Ashley Madison to cheat on his wife, Anna. Plus, back in 2015, the news broke that he molested five underage girls when he was a teenager, and as a result, TLC canceled 19 Kids & Counting.
Duggar ended up going to treatment at a faith-based sex rehab program in Illinois, and since the scandal, his family and wife have forgiven him. Now, it seems that things are back to normal for Josh and Anna since they welcomed baby number five last September.
But even though he has come back to social media, Josh won’t be on Counting On anytime soon. However, there are plenty of things fans will have to catch up on when the show returns for its 8th season later this summer.

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are expecting their first baby this July, and Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell have a little boy arriving in June. Also, Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson started courting back in January and in March they got engaged. Now, they are planning their wedding, which according to their registry, will take place on December 31st.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth also welcomed their first baby in February, and Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald are enjoying time with their two young sons.
Meanwhile, John David and Jana – the only single older Duggars – will appear on Counting On, too, and fans will get the chance to see if either of them has gotten closer to finding someone special.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC on July 30th, we only assume Josh Duggar will not be featured.
